The Friends Ambulance Unit in WWII

Michael Rutter's (B: 1946-50) cousin, Antony Barlow, has edited a beautiful new book about Quaker experience of conscientious objection and FAU membership in WW2. The correspondence of Antony's parents, Ralph and Joan Barlow, tells the story of war from both the Pacifist's viewpoint and from that of a mother left at home.

The book is published by Michael Session's (B: 1962-67)'s company, Quacks, and it is being sold at £20, but Antony Barlow is happy to offer 25% discount to Bootham Old Scholars. This would be £15 plus £3.50 p&p. Please contact Antony at artspublicity@hotmail.com
