Peter was awarded the M.B.E this New Year in the Queen's Honours list, for his contribution to Holocaust Education. Peter was born into a Jewish family in Vienna. Peter's farther learned the SS were coming for him and, with the help of a Quaker family in Manchester, arranged for Peter and his brother to escape on the kindertransport. Peter still works to educate people today about his past and his experiences during and after the Second World War. In 1997 Peter had the thesis ‘The Missing Chapter’ What the Quakers did for the Jews of Nazi Europe, accepted by Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem. |
